First pregnancy question

So I just found out I'm pregnant! (My first) I'm 4w1d. I cant see my OBGYN until 8 weeks. How do you guys know if everything is okay? Anyway to measure my hcg levels other than blood test? ($40 everytime I go have it done) I'm trying not to get my hopes too high because I know theres a chance it doesnt stick. Suggestions or advise?
