Sleepy Baby Noises?

Hi mamas,  my 7 week old will be napping and occasionally let out a loud noise then fall back asleep. I don't know how to describe it ... like a gasping for air/ deep breath cry? Is it normal?

My little one had a thing where he wouldn’t breathe for a second and then made a noise. My dr thought it was likely reflux related. Definitely check with your child’s dr

Always get it checked but I asked my doctor this and she said babies breathe through their nose to start with and need to learn to breathe from the mouth. Luckily my little one gasped when she was there so she was able to confirm what he was doing.

Sounds to me like sleep apnea. My brother experienced this and had to have his tonsils and adnoids removed to correct it. I'd talk to your pediatrician
