Birth control

So I’ve talked to my doctor I just want to know some personal experiences, I’m scared to go on hormonal birth control again, I didn’t react very well to the pill, and I’m to scared to get an implant of any kind, I wondered if people have success with just condoms ? Maybe condoms and spermicide? Or if that isn’t enough protection. I want to be smart but I don’t want to mess with my body if that makes sense, my anxiety gets worse when my hormones are messed with. Thanks for any advice!
