Any late speakers here?

Any babies who are late speakers? What do you do about it? We are in a multi language household

I feel like whose baby is realllllllly actually talking a lot right now tho? They all only say a few words and babble. Everyone is in constant competition and wants to act like their kid is a genius and it’s like no, they’re all just learning, it’s all normal right now.

Mine barely says anything at all. She's just now starting to become more vocal. She used to say dada and mumum all the time then she stopped for awhile when she started learning to walk and other things. She will be 18m on the 19th.

So my son speaks a lot and babbles constantly.. however my friends little bro came from a multi language household (english french polish) and he didnt start speaking till 4.. nothing wrong with him just speech therapist said he was very confused by all the different languages?! Could be this? Also his sister never had a problem with all the different lanuages she just learnt them all one by one (spoke polish till she was three, then english when started school and then french)

My daughter is an early talker - starting to say short sentences and sing songs. She’s always been slower with physical milestones though.

My daughter isn't a big talker either, real words anyway. She uses some, like variations of momma and daddy, and no, uh-oh, and boss baby (she loves that movie lol). I had her screened about a month ago and they weren't too concerned since she's still progressing in speech. They did suggest encouraging her to use words instead of sign language and encourage her to repeat me when I'm telling her names of stuff, like if she wants a cookie to have her try to say cookie before I give it to her, stuff like that. She will be 18 months old on the 19th.

My son says hi and bye and trolls (he’s addicted to that movie) and that’s about it. He’s incredibly vocal, but just can’t figure out how to sound out actual words. I’m assuming all he needs is time.

Yupp!! My son will be 18 months on the 22nd. Currently he fluently says momma and dadda, and no. Other words he will say on occasion are more, yeah, and baby. Other than that he doesn’t say anything else. We are just letting him go at his own pace for now. I’ll see what the doctor says at his 18 month appointment but I’m not worried about it. They told me at his 15 month appointment to talk to speech therapy to see if he needs it. I choose to wait it out. I think he just needs time. He was an early walker. He was walking at 10 months. So I think he’s just more concerned with playing and running around than being verbal. We just work with him everyday.
