The Harmony Test?

Is this something a lot of you other mother's are doing? Or is it a test you think I could opt out of? I don't mind doing it either way. I just wasn't sure how many people are actually taking the test and not, and whether or not it is worth it?

I took mine last week. 
Awaiting the results now. I took it coz of higher accuracy and to know the gender early! It was $375 in Australia

I was going to do it but my insurance doesn't cover any type of genetic testing unless they deem it medically necessary, and it's not for my situation so we won't be having any tests done!

We aren’t doing it. Didn’t with our first either. If you’re low risk then it really isn’t needed but some people like it for peace of mind (I think you can get them to test for gender as well with it so some people like it for that)

It’s a much more accurate test to determine the risk of downsyndrome than the us/bloodwork tests. Also tells you gender. It’s not covered by our insurance or Ohip, it’s around $600

I am getting genetic testing done because I am 37, I am not 100% sure what they are going to do as they scheduled my appointment and just left me a voicemail. They said I am meeting the genetic counselor at 9 and have an ultrasound at 10.

What in the world is a harmony test?

Currently waiting on my results. It's a  personal choice. The likelihood is that it will come back as everything is fine, but it does look for chromosomal abnormalities and that is information that can be difficult to hear.

You don’t have to. I did for my first pregnancy at 10 weeks. I may not with this one.
