So I’ve finally decided to go through with it and get an iud. I have extreme paranoia with pregnancy, and everyone keeps telling me to get the iud because of how effective it is. I’m terrified of the pain, but I’ve heard from some people that it’s actually not that bad. Any advice for my first insertion? How to prepare? What’s going to happen at the doctors office? And what to expect afterwards? Will my boyfriend be able to feel it during sex? And this is a weird question, but do you think if I would ask, a nurse will hold my hand? Just because I know I’m going to be terrified. I just want the peace of mind that comes with it so badly.
