Which meds, if any?

Not trying to pass any judgement so let's refrain from that but...
I'm a FTM, and was wondering- what, if any, types of pain medications have you used in your previous births? I just don't know if I want any or which ones to choose... Any experienced moms with advice? Also, at what point did you decide to medicate? I'm talking epidural, etc. thanks for your advice ahead of time!!

I'm going to accept any and all drugs they offer. I wouldn't get a tooth pulled without numbing myself, why would I get my beautiful eight pound "tooth" extracted from my lady bits without doing the same?!? lol

I want to try for a medication free labor but I'm not opposed to meds by any means. If I get in there and just can't handle the pain I will definitely be accepting an epidural!

I got an epidural with my first. I was trying for a natural birth, but wasn't dilating, even with consistent contractions. I'd been in labor for about 24 hours (contractions every 2-3 minutes). I was exhausted and needed to rest but couldn't with the constant contractions. I wasn't really hurting much, just wiped out. I'm going to try again for natural delivery this time, but am open to the option of drugs if needed.

I got my epidural pretty quick after getting to the hospital but I'd been in labour for 6+ hours already. 
I don't regret it one bit. Four hours later my baby was born, I don't think it slowed me down at all and I was able to rest and focus on effective pushes because the pain wasn't holding me back. 
I think it's great people want to go without, and kudos to them, but I don't feel that need. In the end we get our babies out safe and sound.

I labored for quite a while med free but I was induced for pre-e. They told me that my bp was spiking from the pain and recommended pain management to keep it down to avoid a c-section. I did two rounds of fentanyl which worked for about 5 minutes each time before I took the epidural instead then was able to keep my bp down and have a vaginal birth.

I had an epidural and didn't feel any pain once it kicked in. Once it was time to push, I felt the pressure, but still, it wasn't painful. The only downfall was waiting an hour for it to wear off and then having an escort to the bathroom to make sure I didn't fall. Other than that, I will definitely be having another epidural when it's time for baby to arrive.

I managed with just gas and air with my first 2, and I'm aiming to just use gas and air again. I'm very lucky though and have had very easy, straight forward births.

I had one shot of stadol with my daughter bc of horrible back labor. I also got the epidural when I was dilated to around a 7. With my son I got the epidural earlier bc he had been diagnosed with a heart condition in utero and it helped stabilize his heart rate.
