Is this a phase?
My son (2 months old) only seems to be able to take good naps when he is being held. There’s basically a 50/50 chance when I put him down, swaddled in his bassinet, that he will wake up immediately or sleep for less than an hour. Most of the time I just hold him because I want him to get enough sleep and refuse to let him cry it out at this young age. This didn’t seem to be a problem in his first month when all he did was sleep.
Interestingly, he sleeps in his bassinet at night just fine (when we aren’t in the middle of a cluster feed). I’m getting worried because I go back to work in two weeks and I know he won’t be held all day at daycare.
Will he eventually grow out if this or am I going to be dealing with an overtired baby once I go back to work? Any advice for improving his naps??
Thanks!
