Anyone else’s 4 month old hate their first taste of baby food??

Question

I gave my 4 month old her first taste of baby food (banana flavored) and she hated it.
She kept spitting it right back out.
Anyone else experience this??

Just so you know i have been reading up on when to start baby food and/or solids and baby’s tummy really isn’t ready until six months of age and when certain mile stones are met such as thrusting reflex of the tongue to prevent choking, acting interested in food etc... good luck!

It's just a new thing. Keep offering it in different ways. So puree, chunky, mashed, Etc. It can take up to seven times of introduction before a child learns to like a food.

I read somewhere that feeding from your finger helps. Solids are already a new thing to try so just a tad on the finger makes it a little less foreign.
I started at 4 months because he was already sitting up and pediatrician gave the ok. I went with homemade applesauce that was an easy sell, 4 days later he had sweet potato, you could see it on his face that he wasn’t sure wether he liked it or not but he finished it all and by the next day he was all for it.

With my first she hated bananas!! When I went to her 5 month appointment she said a lot of babies don't like the banana baby food. She told me to try apples or a veggie. My daughter is 11 now and still hated bananas.

I started with apples, she’s doing great with them, I’m trying bananas next so we’ll see how she likes or doesn’t like them.

My son loves butternut squash and sweet potatoes mixed in his oatmeal ! He hates green beans 😂 and before anyone comments he is hitting 6-7 month milestones and has severe reflux he’s on that and medication.  
Butternut squash was the first I tried with him and he just loved it !
