Alright. How do you separate time between families for the holidays?

Everyone seems unhappy this year. We were going to do Christmas Eve morning with my family. And afternoon with my husbands family. Then Christmas Day just us, but maybe go to my dad's in the afternoon. What a mess 🤦‍♀️ Literally Four Christmases...

We are doing thanksgiving with my husbands family.  Christmas by ourselves.  And new years with my family.  Every year we do two thanksgiving and 2 Christmas dinners.  I can't do it anymore and let my family know for our sanity we will be splitting holidays every year.  You either get thanksgiving,  Christmas,  or new years with us.  But not all three.

We used to do 5 Christmases. I told my husband we’re doing one for his side, one for mine, and that’s it. The only person who will take issue is my MIL and I don’t care. We don’t even get time to spend as our own family bc we’re too exhausted from traveling. You do what you feel is best and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it.

We’ve been doing all holidays with my so’s family. My dad is the only one near us on my side, so he comes along with us if he isn’t working. We’re just going to make sure to spend a few hours Christmas morning just me, my hubby, and our little girl. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day will be with his family and my dad will be joining at Christmas.

We split up visits between thanksgiving and Christmas. We have my family, husbands dad and stepmom, and husbands moms family. So thanksgiving this year is his dad. Then Christmas Eve is his moms family. Christmas Day will be my family. Then we just rotate families every year depending on who will be doing what... we used to go see everyone within 2 days and it was MISERABLE!

This year is really messed up because our son is due the 17th so we’re not really doing anything. Usually though we do Christmas morning with his side and Christmas evening with my side.

We do early Christmas morning to ourselves, then go to my family’s around 11 and then his family’s around 4:30.

We're doing Christmas with his family, New Years AM is going to be a second Christmas at my parent's house, New Years PM is New Years at my grandmother's house. We are also having a mini Christmas on the 19th of December because we have to travel to his family on the 20th and we want some family time, just us and our son.
