I switched birthcontrol pills...

I switched from orsythia to loseasonique in the last week of my active pills of orsythia. My doctor said I could start then right away and didn't say if I needed to wait 7 days. I've been getting weird side effects and I can't remember if I had sex in the first 7 days of being on the new pill. If I did have sex in those 7 days, would the old pill still have me covered?
