My ex texted me out of the blue

He texted me a closure/ apology after I dumped him 4 months ago. He said that he’s ready to talk and that he still loves me.

I broke up with him because he wasn’t the best boyfriend and I said some true but mean things to him and he is just now responding to it.

He said he had no idea that he hurt me so bad and still loves me.

Does he want to get back with me? What is the purpose of texting me??
