Nipple Confusion... Is this real?

Question

My husband and I were out shopping and ended up looking at baby items. He found some ninja turtle bottles (insert eye roll here), and got them. I was looking at other brands, Such as Avent. But I've heard of nipple confusion. I intend on breast feeding, so that would be a big deal to me, but I've heard women say that it's not real. 
Is it? 
Based on that question, what bottles are best for a breastfeeding mom and baby?

Very real. Also real with bottle nipple and pacifiers. The pacifier should be the same shape as the bottle nipple. I remember my son only took to ONE pacifier because it was the same shape as his bottle nipple.

I gave my baby a bottle her first day home and ever since she's gotten about 1-2 bottles a day and the rest she's breast fed. We use Avent bottles and she loves them because they are shaped more like a nipple since they have a wider mouth. She's never had nipple confusion but when she's mad and crying she prefers a bottle because she doesn't need to wait for a let down! Lol

I would get a couple of bottles from different brands. We found dr. Brown bottles to work best for my guy. We actually got the premie sized nipple (the hole is smaller). It made him work harder for the milk and I think it reminded him more of the breast. He used the premie nipple all the way up until we switched to a sippee cup. Haha. He had bad reflux and this was the only bottle that worked for us. :)

I'll be breastfeeding too so I did some research before registering and found that comotomo and tommee tippie are the best to coincide with bf babies :)

I heard to prevent nipple confusion to not introduce bottle or pacifier for 4-6 weeks. Which is what I plan on doing and then just not doing the pacifier- I hate them anyway!

My lactation consultant says it is a real thing but only occurs in 20% of cases...no idea how you study that haha

Very real thing and can make learning how to breastfeed very difficult. I would not introduce a bottle at all for at least 2 months if you can handle it. The first month is really hard to get through. Good luck!!!

Neither of my kids experienced nipple confusion and both entered daycare at 12 weeks and I breadtfed each for 12 months. I used Avent, Medela with both of them....ordered Tommy Tippee for my third on way
