I am 250, size 18/20 and the baby Bjorn works great for me. Tend to carry the most weight in my lower belly and thighs though.

Carriers are so personal to the person. I've tried many different ones and for me, I like the kinderpack and lennylamb brands for soft structured carriers. I never for the hang of wrapping, but did use the stretchy wraps (moby or K'tan) with my newborns and loved that. My all time favorite way to babywear is a ring sling, takes some practice but once mastered it was the most comfortable way to wear my small babies before they could go on my back.
