Am I wrong

I'm 19 about to go to collage and my boyfriend is 21 he is not doing any thing with his life he talks and talks about getting his life together and says he wants to go in to the military he has been saying that for A year now but has not done so he says he wants a family he wants to take are relationship farther but how can we even you have no carrier so I told him , he has 6 months to get his life together or we can't be together . Am I wrong for saying this to him ?
