OPK question-help please

Hello- this is going to be my 1st cycle using OPK (I will be tracking BBT too). Came off BC on 7/18 and got my period 26 days later, no withdrawal bleeding in between, just a normal cycle. Period is supposed to end today so I'm going to start using OPK to see when I'm ovulating this next month.

I understand on the tests that the test line is supposed to be darker than the control line for a positive reading, but my question is- if I test and the test line is faint, should it progressively get darker day by day to indicate that I am getting close and leading up to ovulation day?
