My MIL wants to give us my husbands daughter’s baby furniture from about 8 years ago (crib, changing table, dresser) while i’m all for saving money I now know that cribs made before June 2011 are not recommended. The furniture has also been used several times by several different people and has been tucked away in an attic when not being used. My husband is adamant that thats what we’ll use but I want all new furniture for my peace of mind and also because it’s MY first child and I dont want hand me downs. (There is nothing wrong with hand me downs but they’re 8 yrs old) It’s going to be tight because we have to buy so much already and we are moving in 3 weeks and that will cost us a couple thousand. Any advise?
