Hair dye while pregnant?

What is the deal with getting your hair dyed while pregnant? Should you avoid it for the whole pregnancy or just the first trimester? I am not pregnant, but we are trying and I’m wondering if I should try to get my hair done in such a way that it can grow out for a couple months without looking terrible.

I had foils done through my entire pregnancy & I’m currently still breastfeeding and I’ve had no issues.

I just had my hair done tonight (highlights) it wasn’t a problem. My hairdresser says she does pregnant ladies hair all the time 😊

I’ve heard it’s fine to do as long as you are in a well ventilated area but just to be safe I’m waiting until my 2nd trimester and it’s so hard. My hair is usually a bright red and rn now it’s a copper color 😂 I’m only 10 weeks and 4 days. Only got about 2 weeks left though.

I asked my OB at my 8 week appointment and she told me its perfectly fine! The only thing is if you’re sensitive to smells it could just make you feel sick. But it won’t hurt your baby!

I dyed my own. Made sure it was well ventilated and waited until my second trimester. Like the first day 😂 majority of the dye doesn’t absorb in your skin and bloodstream anyways so you should be ok.
