Question

How to treat homosexuals? I feel that a lot of Christians tend to exclude them and make them seem below them. How do you feel and treat them? What's your views? I'm curious because I've been battling this myself because a lot of my peers call me homophobic and I just don't know what to do. Well I know never to turn my back on God just because of man's foolish ways. I try my best to love EVERYONE and respect everyone but it gets hard when no one gives it back to you, don't you agree?

I treat them the same way I treat everyone else. With kindness and compassion. That's what Jesus did. He ate with sinners while being condemned by the Pharisees for it. Hate isn't the way to get people to pursue God and want to walk the path of righteousness because God is not hate, God is love. None of us have been without sin and we shouldn't try to play God by putting ourselves on the throne of judgement. And as an ex bi-sexual, drug addict, alcoholic, and many other numerous things that I once was, I can be the first to tell you that it was ONLY the love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion of the Savior that saved me. I would have never turned to God and repented had I not seen Him for who He truly is because I grew up with plenty of hateful religious people in my life. And today I give praise to God for how He has helped me turn my life around. His love has overwhelmed me and today I am NOTHING like I was back then! And it doesn't matter if others don't treat us good when we treat them good because Christ wasn't treated good by everyone either but He still remained compassionate and gentle. Do what you know is right in the sight of God which is to love others, treat others the way you want to be treated, be obedient to Him, etc. Hope this helps!

With love, no doubt. That's what Jesus would want and it's only right.  Jesus loved folk whilst still letting them know their lifestyle needed to be changed.

People will call you homophobic for disagreeing because they find it offensive that you and Jesus can't go along with the sins they love, or are deeply into, or just simply don't care about. They'll call you loving someone while pointing out how God delivers, "hatred” and "bigotry”, because it hits home to them and they don't want to fully submit to the Holy Spirit. While ironically being the ones full of hatred and bigotry for Christians who truly follow Jesus (by loving everyone, yet not agreeing or going along with sin-especially removing the plank from our own eye).

Jesus said that there are 3 things that last-faith, hope, and love. He says the greatest of those is

Love the sinner hate the sin. I'd give the shirt off my back for a homosexual but I would never support their decision. When I speak to those who are homosexual or to people who support I always use love and understanding never judgment fire and brimstone :) through love we witness to the unsaved and through love the seed grows. But as a Christian we must not accept the behaviour as "normal" or "right" because God says it is not.

Hate the sin not the sinner! Jesus wouldn't be cruel to them. Anyone who claims they are a Godly person yet hates someone because they sin differently than they do should re-evaluate their views on what it means to be a true Christian. I have known homosexuals that love God and have resisted temptation just so they can be accepted by Him. It is sad to think that people would be so hateful towards someone based solely on their sexual orientation, instead of who they are as a person. You are not defined by who you love. Never does it tell us in the bible to hate anyone, but over and over again it says acceptance, prayer and love.

It is not my place as a broken human to judge someone. My step-daughter is having a rough time because she is bi but loves Jesus with all of her being. Our church and her youth group has done a PHENOMENAL job at making her feel loved and accepted. I try very hard to love each and every person as best as I can.

Keep loving others like you said but don't expect to receive anything back. If your friends call you homophobic, then maybe you should avoid topics about homosexuals whom you should pray for and love. That would be doing right by God.
