I need advice on birth control

Merissa
Up until this past year or so my period was very irregular but my bleeding lasted only 6-7 days and my cramps only lasted for the first day and were fine after a midol.
However, in the past year or so I now have a regular period but my cramps now last my whole period, they don't go away even after I take up to the recommended dose of midol or pain killers. They are so bad my first day or so that it sometimes makes me vomit.
Due to my job I only really have one day a month that I have off where I can go in and talk to a doctor about this, so I would be so great full to have some advice on what I should do before I go in. Information on the Internet can only take you so far and doesn't help with other people's personal experiences!
