Why is my boyfriend lying to me?

Can someone help me please? I’ve been with my boyfriend for 10 months soon it’ll change to 11 months and this is the first time where he’s lied straight to me. He stopped texting me out of nowhere and ignored me for 3 hours then he texts me “sorry I was sleeping” when his Snapchat said he was at the movies. When I see this my mind goes to the worst and thinks he’s cheating but I’m not sure. If I confront him about this I feel like he’ll think there’s no trust between us but I want to talk about it with someone. Somebody please give your opinion on this.
