Baby Names & Peoples opinions

So me and my SO have known what we wanted to name our baby for as long as i can remember.

His best friend passed away last year and His name was Lachlan Morgan.

We ended up on Lachlan Ryder for our baby boy, (pronounced Lock-lyn btw) and anytime someone ask if we picked out a name we get such negative looks and negative comments and it’s really making me uneasy. What do i Doo. is it really that bad?!
