Reactions to lube..?

My boyfriend and I tried lube for the first time while having sex. It got all over the both of us and after I realized that right above my vaginal lips it got itchy and a little bumpy. But that part also rubs against my leg if I'm laying in different ways. This happened a few weeks ago and will only itch every once in a while now. We did use condoms. Any help or advice, please?
