6 days late, bfn...blood test?

If af doesn't show by tomorrow I am going to call the doctor and see if I can get a blood test. If I am getting negatives on home tests, is it possible that a blood test can pick it up if I am pregnant?

I was a couple weeks late in my period before I got a positive home pregnancy test. A blood test would be able to pick up any level of hcg whereas a urine test needs 25 units (or more) with concentrated urine. Implantation can take up to 12 days and doubles every 30 hours or so. So, let's say you implantated around 10 dpo, your hcg may not be high enough for the urine test but the blood test would pick up a low level of hcg. The only reason a blood test wouldn't pick it up is if you haven't inplanted yet or if you inplanted yesterday or something. Just depends on when you ovulated.

Even after a blood test and being two months late I didn't show a positive test until I was 6 weeks pregnant. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. Hope this helps.

I'd give it a few more days. I know you're anxious but it can take a while for your hcg levels to get to the point where they're detectable.
