How long should we wait to announce?

How long should you wait to announce pregnancy? Family, close friends and then publicly? I want to tell our parents first... then move on to immediate family. and I was wondering how long you were wait for each? Opinions please!!! We’re first time parents in a long term relationship...

We told our families at 8 weeks (this week!) as well as our close friends. I also told my teaching team just so they could help and support when possible as I’ve been having a rough time with morning sickness and what not. 
We won’t go “public” on social media until 12 weeks after my first appointment though to assure things are healthy or if there are things we need to prepare for. Our thoughts are we want a support network if anything should happen or if any medical needs come up. This is our first! I don’t think there is any right time. 
It’s what feels best and comfortable to you.

With our first we told our parent straight away, simply because we had our hen and stag dos that week and were getting married a month after and j was suffering badly with morning sickness so couldn't hide it.
This pregnancy we waited until 12 weeks, as I've had 2 miscarriages in the last year, so we wanted to wait until the miscarriage rate dropped. 
There's no set time to tell people, just do it when you feel comfortable.

I told my mom around 6 weeks. We told his parents around 8 weeks and we told our friends around 12/13 weeks (which meant everyone in our town) I honestly had a hard time announcing even then because I had so much anxiety about losing the baby m, but it we did it and it was good to have support throughout pregnancy.

We told our parents at 8 weeks (we knew from week 4), close friends/family at 10-11 weeks. The rest of the world fount out on facebook at 13 weeks. 
Keep in mind that everyone that knows will want to know how your pregnancy is going each time they see you.. if ever something bad was to happen, would you be ok with re explaining everything multiple times? That’s how I viewed it..

We told family immediately as soon as I went to the local pregnancy center for confirmation at around 5 weeks. Announced on social media at 8 weeks. Whenever me and hubby have our second I don’t think we will announce on social media.

We told immediate family around 10-12 weeks and waited to publicy announce around 20 weeks...its whatever you feel comfortable with though

Same boat as you! We’re waiting until our first appointment at 8 weeks to mention it to anyone. I think after that appointment we’ll likely tell his kids and then I’d like to wait just a little longer to break the news to more immediate family/close friends. The Facebook announcement will come around the 3 month mark.
