Yes always.  I only sleep naked, pads don’t really work for that....

Please do not leave tampons in for more than 6 hours. That puts you at serious risk for TSS, which can become fatal VERY quickly.

I only wear pads to bed. I find tampons make things to dry in sleep and just becomes uncomfortable

Only on days when I know I’m going to sleep less than 8 hours. Like if it’s 11:00 and I have to be up by 6:00
