We're looking for a name that is strong and unique but easy to spell and pronounce. Our last name is jones- one syllable and very generic. I grew up with a 'Strat' who was well thought of by adults and idolized by all the younger children, but it doesn't roll off the tongue so easily. My top contender is Stratton (but only when he's in trouble 😉) and 'Strat' as a nickname. Hubs is concerned it sounds too country or country club. I can see the name fitting a jock or a music junkie or (I.e. Stratocaster comes to mind). If you don't like it- I'd love to hear why (e.g., too country,  too country club, associated with Vermont mountain range, associate with Stratton Oakmont, sounds like..._____, etc.'). I've found it's one that tends to grow on you as you say it more. Our other fave is Liam, but it's so dang popular!
