What are your thoughts not about abortion but more so on forcing a child who does not have the capability of making their own decision carry the child of her rapist because you're pro-life? I'm trying to understand how anyone can see this as being ok.

I am not one to personally have an abortion, but I think in extenuating circumstances it may need to be considered.

What kind of trauma and counseling would this child need? How could she possibly feel after having been raped possibly by someone she knew and then for her family and those around her to force her to carry this pregnancy all the through?

How do you convince her that this is a good thing, a blessing in disguise so to speak?

If my 10 or 11 year old daughter became pregnant, abortion would be the ONLY option. There would be no discussion about it. It wouldn't even matter to me how she became pregnant. I would rather die then have my child be forced to endure 9 months of pregnancy and then child birth. Sorry, not sorry. There is a special place in hell for anyone who would allow of force  a 10 year old to carry a pregnancy to term.

not to mention how dangerous it is for her young body.

When I was a teen I got pregnant and applied for a judicial bypass (abortion without parental consent). I was chewed apart by my local clinic, the judge that ruled on my case, and the "prosecutor", the woman arguing against me. The local clinic was cruel towards me, and the woman arguing against me literally said the moment I met her that she would never tell the judge that I was responsible enough to have an abortion because she was pro life. I was denied in my home state and it was the worst feeling in the world. I was told I wasn't responsible enough to have an abortion, but I was responsible enough to have a child. Why wasn't I responsible enough? Because I was a full time caregiver for my mother, and because of that I didn't work or drive or go to school. Luckily I went out of state and was granted the abortion. Forcing someone to be an incubator is NOT okay.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's awful you would be denied. I wish young women could just have access everywhere without having to justify themselves.

Also the court took weeks to set up my hearing, plus beforehand I had to have ultrasounds and watch videos and speak with doctors. By the time I got to my first hearing I was pretty far into my pregnancy, despite starting the process at 7 weeks.

Less than 1% of all abortions take place because of rape and/or incest. http://www.operationrescue.org/about-abortion/abortions-in-america/

Most of you are trying to outlaw abortion, I'd say that making babies have babies is definitely the anti-choice agenda.

Operation Rescue is on a terrorist watch list. Their members are directly responsible for the assassination of Dr. Tiller. Pardon me if I don't take their statistics seriously.

Those two things aren't related. you're still asking a number of women to carry a baby that was forced upon them. obviously this isn't a common occurance, it's specific situation.

I had an abortion at 12 for a few reasons but even without a medical condition I would of had one, I'm glad my parents made this choice. Court was bad enough so counseling for a year after really did help

It is absolutely disgusting forcing a TEN year old girl through pregnancy and birth. Ugh i will never understand how people would be okay with this

While I do agree that counseling will be in order for her, I'd let her feel any damn way she wanted. I wouldn't try to convince her any of it was a blessing. Children should never be violated and retraumatized by the legal/medical communities. Which should be looking out for their best interests. It absolutely breaks my heart to hear stories like that.

Forcing anyone to carry a child is not fair. Especially a child. This is my second pregnancy first baby to make it halfway and I'm 20 weeks. I'm also only 20 years old. Not a child but still a young adult. Being pregnant is hard the toll it takes on ones body is unforgiving. You are literally sharing your life source with another being that is trying to survive and thrive. Pregnancy isn't all fun and easy 9months out pops a baby. It's HARD. I'm having a difficult time dealing and I'm an adult. I COULD NOT allow my child or any child to have to go through this. Especially if it wasn't wanted.

I did not read the article, just your post about it and some of the comments. But I did not even know some women got their period as young as the age of 10... I think I had to be around 12, my god that is so scary. And scarring nonetheless. The rape is scarring enough let alone carrying and raising a rapists baby! Grown women cannot even handle the life-changing experience that being raped is, let alone then carrying that child. I have no words for that poor young girl 💔😔

This kind of thing is why there won't be a republican in the White House until they drop the entire anti-choice bs. He's not the only one of them that feels this way and it's like something from a distopia.
