Why??

Question

My 4 day old just may be having his first cry just to cry and it is KILLING my fiancé and I 😕. We fed him, we changed him, we checked to see if he is too hot or too cold....we are just at a loss. We are first time parents and this is just breaking our hearts😕. He acts like he has never eaten before and has no idea how to do it...but is doing all the hunger cues...
Just need some encouragement..or advice..or anything.
We feel so bad for him😕

Could be gas. My 4 day old screams and gives hunger cues but will refuse to latch. Then I’ll try burping her or peddling her legs, gas will pass and she’ll nurse. Doesn’t always work but may be worth a try.

Burping is the answer pretty often for us.

He may have colic. I have a 2 week old and he does the same thing. I have to keep walking with him and patting his back. Eventually I get a really big burp and he goes right to sleep. Good luck, and remember to breath

Colic can caused that, also gas and maybe acid reflux.

Watch “The happiest baby on the block” summary of the book with the 5 S’s on YouTube. Sometimes they work! Sometimes just holding, singing, rocking, and swaying, or walking the house with baby close. The only thing that always works with my baby is the breast, even if he’s not hungry. He roots in panic like a shark then sucks for 7-10 minutes, calms down, and falls asleep. It’s not my favorite thing. He is 3w1d and we haven’t introduced bottle or pacifier yet, but we got the pacifier ready for these times when all his needs are met and he’s still fussy. Hoping it helps. 
The bicycling of legs, clockwise belly rubbing, and baby massage help too for upset stomach. Sometimes my boy cries just when he’s pooing, lol. Also- I’m trying so hard to do skin to skin daily; regulates their hormones and sleep eventually. Ahhh. It’s all so hard. I feel you.

Try crossing his arms in front of him and putting your hand under his butt and picking him up that way then slowly and gently swing him. Hope this helps, it’s a thing I saw which helps me and my hubby a lot
