Do you call body parts by their actual names to your child?

Question

For example: butt, vagina, nipple etc 
I have a two year old who I’ve always just naturally done this with. She loves to point at body parts and gave me name them or she names them- eye, nose, mouth, nipple (she nurses) 
In the bath or whenever it comes up, we name body parts accurately. But I wonder now if that’s weird or inappropriate somehow. I mean she knows all the body parts (not a penis!) and I feel like that would protect her in some ways but maybe I’m wrong

I feel it’s always best to refer to them with there proper names. It’s just another body part, no different than a chin or elbow.

Yes always by their real names. God forbid if something hapoens, the court can only go off what the child says. If your kid says "he touched my cookie..." the court can't prove that your kids "cookie" is the vagina.

How is it weird or inappropriate to educate your child on their body parts? Will it also be weird and inappropriate to educate them on sex once they're older? I'll always teach my daughter the actual names of all body parts. Both male and female anatomy.

I’ve done that with my 3 year old since he learned how to talk. It is never a bad thing to educate children about the human body male or female. I feel it is very important for when they are older so they don’t feel awkward talking about it. There is nothing to shield him from, it’s a body part for Gods sakes. My mom never taught us so when I grew up speaking out loud about a vagina or a penis or talking about periods was very hard for me. Even speaking on a women to women level I would get embarrassed about it. That’s why I want to teach my child differently why make it awkward when it doesn’t need to be that way in the first place?

Yup, my 2.5yo son calls his penis his penis and said "mommy has a penis" so then I had to tell him that I have a vagina. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Those are the names things are given. 
I am also one of those moms that doesn't do nicknames for common things (baba, wawa, numnums, etc) drives me crazy.

Yes always the proper name! My two yr old every night during bath goes down the list... My penis, daddy has penis,  mommy no penis, bubba has penis, Malachi has penis... It's a way of them learning 1) parts of the body and not being ashamed or embarrassed by the name and 2) recognizing male and females are different. It doesnt mean you have to show them your parts vs his parts, but it gives them the idea that girls and boys are different. My lo was breastfed up until 24 months, he is now 30months, and he points to my breasts and says " what's that do?" I tell him "they use to feed you now they are just there". He says "oh!" And goes on. They don't need huge explanations, just enough for them to get something and move on.

Yes.  My daughter knows she has a vagina and nipples and breast/boobs. She also knows it's nothing to be ashamed to say since they are the correct terms.  However it doesn't mean we need to announce to the grocery store that we have them.  😂😂😂😂

My 2.5 year old knows her parts by their name. She knows vulva and penis and butt and boobs and nipples - along with the standard eyes nose ears etc.

This reminds me of my cousin who taught her young daughter it's called her "China". I just cringe at the thought of her being at school and learning that China is not a body part... Maybe I'm being too critical.
