Copper IUD, pros/cons?

Question

Thinking about getting the copper IUD, I’ve never been on birth control before so I don’t know a whole lot on how my body would react to any BC and I’ve never been pregnant before. Personally I just want something with the least amount of hormones. 
What are some pros and cons that you’ve experienced with it?

Copper IUD made my periods heavier and longer so I switched to the hormonal IUD. Mirena stopped my periods after month 4 which I love because I have heavier periods. 2 weeks of bad cramps a heating pad helped. Insertion was 5 mins and sucked but other than that no side effects. If I had lighter periods I wouldnt mind the copper IUD. No daily pill, weekly patch or monthly ring. No pharmacy, or pill pack to carry with you if you go out somewhere overnight or for a vacation. Medications dont interact with it. You sent feel it once the cramps wear off. I love it. My insurance covered it, without insurance it would have been $2,000. I think it's worth it.
