Young engagement?

I'm 16 and my SO is 18 and we've been together for 1 year and 3 months and been best friends for a little over 3 years now. We've been talking about getting married when I graduate high school, he asked me and I said yes. Does this technically count as getting engaged?

UPDATE: we have been together for well over 2 years now and we are engaged and are getting married after I graduate! We have booked a venue for September of next year!

We got engaged on our one year anniversary, I was 16 he was 19. I was 15, he was 18 when we first started dating. He moved in.with my mom and I about 6 months of dating bc of his mom. We just got pur first house in July, and are ttc and planning pur wedding for next year. Our 3 years is in November. You can be engaged for however long you'd like, with/without a ring. Your love for one another is all that matters. Not a lot of really young couples make it, but there are still a few of us out there. Lol

I got engaged at 15, honestly, ring and everything. My boyfriend was 16. NO ONE took us seriously except for our families, because they actually knew our relationship and they could tell that we were in love. Now he's about to turn 20, we've been married nearly a year and are having our first son in December! I got my parents consent and was married when I was 17, but I had already been graduated for a year and working by then. Now I'm a stay at home wife and mama to be and my husband is doing better at his job than anyone would have guessed for being so young. Congratulations, don't let anyone get you down!! Me and my husband have been bestfriends for 8 years and have been together for 3 years and have been married for 1 year and we got engaged when we were 17 and got married at 18 and 19 and we got married august 7th 2015 and my husbands birthday is august 5th so we got married right after his birthday and 4 months before my birthday (yes me and my husband were born the same year and 4 months apart from eachother) so i dont think 16 is too young to get engaged cause i got engaged at 17 but i do think you should wait til your 18 to get married cause then you'll he a adult and not a minor

Probably too young to call it an engagement. But it can be a promise to be engaged. My boyfriend and I are in the exact same place (Dating for 1 year and 9 months. I'm 17 and he's 18) we have rings but they are promise rings. You should start off with that.
