Is it lazy parenting to have someone else potty train your 2.5 year old?

My MIL is keeping my nephew for a week before Christmas because of his parents work schedule. My SIL said she’s gonna ask her to potty train him that week. 
I feel bad for my MIL because it seems like she being taken advantage of after offering to keep him for a whole week to help them out.

It doesn't really matter. Few kids potty train completely in a few days. She had better be prepared to continue the potty training. It's a marathon not a sprint.

I think it depends.   My mom offered to potty train my nephew, because both parents work.   I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm jealous, lol.  It sounds like a frustrating time!   I won't ask anyone to do it for me, but I would gratefully accept if offered.  We live in another state, though, so I might not be so lucky.

yes I think she’s taking advantage because she doesn’t want the hard work of potty training her kid. 
but LMAO if she thinks her kid will be potty trained after a week. Hope she’s ready to take her kid home and keep potty training.

Context matters.
Daycare trained my son this summer.  I didn’t ask them.  I had a newborn, so it wasn’t on my radar at all.  We went along with daycare when they asked if they could train him.
If MIL is pushing for it and open to it, then I think it is fine.  If MIL is not open to it, she needs to tell SIL it is too much.

I potty trained my nephew and cousin because everything their parents tried didn’t work and the kids would say I’m daddy/mommy’s baby. So they needed help and since I always babysit them it wasn’t hard for me to do

I think it depends on the situation. My friend's daughter goes to daycare every day because she and her husband work a lot, the daycare potty trained her. My sister in law is a trauma nurse, her husband is a cop, his mom offered to potty train their son the first few days, then my SIL took a few sick days to reinforce it. 
I'm a stay at home mom, so I did it by myself.

It’s kind of a lot to ask someone unless they’ve offered to potty train him. I usually try and keep it as easy and low key as possible when someone is watching my kid. 
But I don’t think it’s lazy to allow someone else to potty train your kid. I see parents all the time get tutors for kids instead of working with them on easy tasks at home. I don’t see how it’s much different and I don’t judge either way.
