When did you know it was time to see a fertility doctor?

Hello ladies, I’m new to this. I’m 30 years old and have been TTC for about 8 months now. I’m beginning to get discouraged because i feel i have been doing everything right (ovulation test, sex on and before ovulation days, checking bbt, and testing 12-14 dpo after) however. I keep getting negative test. Is it time to see a fertility doctor?

At 30 you have to be ttc for at least 12 months before they want to see you.

Before going ttc, i did a check up with my obgn because i know i have pcos and i know it will be hard for us.
First he told me try by yourself for 6 months and if nothing first thing to do it’s sperm analysis like that if the husband is okay the doc can start the treatment and focus with you.
So today my husband did his sperm analysis and im going to see my ob after 6 months, he told me dont wait one year and wast your energy.
So shall we see fingers crossed

It really depends on who you see. I started going to an acupuncturist when my husband and I started ttc as my periods were quite irregular after being on the pill for a long time. She recommended getting blood work done early on so we knew what we were dealing with. Which was good because it turns out my FSH was high. We worked on it with herbs and acupuncture and it lowered and my husband and I conceived. Some doctors will say to try for a year, but what's the point wasting time, get blood work done and check there isn't anything wrong straight up so you can address it if need be. This doesn't automatically mean going to a specialist and getting ivf, it just means you can see if your hormones are in the right ball park or not. Get your partner to get a sperm check too, it takes two to tango as it were.

Just turned 30 in October and been ttc for 6 months and my Gyno said i had to wait 1 year before sperm analysis and possibly clomid. Apparently it depends on the Gyno. My friend knows a girl who walked in and said "I have been trying for 3 months and its not working...I am impatient and I want Clomid" and BAM! Now she is pregnant for the second time.

I went to my obgyn after three months ttc because my charts showed my luteal phase was too short. She started running tests, and at 6 months TTC, she ordered a sperm analysis for my husband and Clomid for me. If you’ve been tracking and timing everything perfectly, I’d go see your obgyn now.
