Does your voice get loud at new baby when you get frustrated?

My hubby raises his voice with our 1 month when he gets frustrated. He doesnt yell at him but he gets louder and will ask why he is crying. He feels like a bad dad because he does that, and feels like he cant soothe him. So I'll take over because I dont want our baby to feel the stress. Is this normal or does he need help or something? First time parents.

Give him some tools! I have heard (haven’t read it yet) The Happiest Baby on the Block is a great book for just this. My boss said, having her husband read it gave him some tips and tricks for soothing a baby. Not everyone just knows how to handle a baby. I have also heard there are videos based on this book on Netflix. I haven’t searched them yet, as I’m still 6 months out, but I plan on watching them w my husband (and reading the book myself).

I do when I get frustrated. But I realize that I’m getting frustrated and therefore not helping the situation so I put baby down for a couple minutes to go calm myself or hand her to my husband for a couple minutes while I calm myself. 
Help teach him ways that you soothe baby so that he can try. He isn’t a bad father for getting frustrated, it happens to all of us. He may just need a little guidance on what works best for baby or to even just walk away for a few minutes so he can collect himself and try again.

He’s probably still learning how to react to the new baby. Give him some time and just reassure him that he is a good dad and that it takes time to learn for everyone!

I've never once yelled at my 18-month-old. Yelling is so stressful on kids and very unnecessary. And to think he's raising his voice to a 1-month-old is crazy to me. That's horrible.

Best thing you can do is get the wonder weeks app and the e-book for it. It helps you understand your baby so much better. Raising your voice at a newborn like this will only stress them and make it worse.
