Which iud should I get?

So I’ve been doing my research looking at different types of iud’s and I’m still kind of confused on which one to go with. Ever since I started my period when I was 15 they have been horrible for me like incredibly sick and painful. I’m on the pill and have been for a couple years now. They’ve tried fluctuating it and when they tried to give me a higher dose it made me incredibly emotional and still didn’t help lighten up my periods so I’m still struggling with bad heavy periods and pain. Which iud would be best for potentially lightening up my periods? I’m 20 now and haven’t had any kids.

If you already have bad periods, you most likely won’t want the copper one because it can make them even heavier. I personally have Liletta because it’s the only one my doctors office had available that my insurance would cover and I haven’t had any issues with it.

I had the Skyla for almost 3 years and loved it. It was intense having it put in but well worth it. I haven’t had kids (starting to try now) so having to be dilated enough to place it was painful. I didn’t have a period while I had it in and spotted like twice. I never had cramping. My husband had no complaints of it and didn’t waste uncomfortable for him during sex. I hated using the Mirina IUD it was such a pain and do I mean pain but when I switched to the Kyleena IUD I feel so much better

So I got the mirena @20 with no kids and I had to get dialated so it was pretty painful. My OB told me I could get it removed and the kyleena since it’s smaller so maybe that one

I have a Mirena IUD and it's great. I wanted this one because I want the easiest possible periods because I hate periods. I got it at 20 years old, never been pregnant.

Do NOT get the iud if you have never had a kid. My doctor wouldn’t even give me an iud before my baby. I know a girl who got it and never had kids and she had nothing but bad experiences with it. She cramped for over a month. Bad cramps. She ended up getting an ultrasound to check to see if it had moved because it hurt her so bad. Also don’t ever do the depo unless you know you don’t want children or you’re done having children because it messes up your hormones so bad. I know you didn’t say anything about the depo. I would stick to the pill if I were you. Crazy the pills don’t help with your period.
