Successful VBAC

It’s a boy! 11/13/18 @ 9:04

First pregnancy ended in a C-section after 4 hours of pushing. Indicated induction for IUGR and low fluids. Baby was only 5lbs 11oz. It was recommended to have future C-sections due to having a possible small pelvis. I felt like this pregnancy was different. I was experiencing pressure, cervix dilation, and Braxton Hicks. My doctor felt comfortable to let me VBAC with possibility of leading to another C-section since it was my last chance. I was given low odds. My cervix was favorable 3.5cm/90%. We only were a fingertip with my first. I scheduled my C-section at exactly 39 weeks in case labor didn’t happen spontaneously. I didn’t want another induction. Surprisingly I went into labor 2 days before my C-section. Super quick labor!!! 4.5cm at 0200 and 10cm at 0500. Pushed for almost 2 hours. We needed to wait for antibiotics for GBS and my doctor. He was actually bigger than my daughter. 6lbs and 0.5 oz

I am so happy that I listened to my gut and tried before jumping into having a C-section. This recovery has been amazing!
