Do you believe speculating on influencers mental health is wrong?
Billie Elish, a 16yo musical artist whose popularity and exposure are rapidly growing, recently came out with Tourette syndrome. This was after lots of speculation from fans and countless compilations of her tics were posted.
I sympathize so much with her in the situation. ”I've just never wanted people to think of Tourettes everytime they think of me” and ”wasnt planning on talking about this on here maybe ever but it's gotten to a point” especially. I have been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) for a few years now and have been fairly private about it. The ”I-am-my-disorder” feeling is horrible. I personally don't think fans should have speculated so much, or made her feel pressured to come out with it.
The argument I hear is that she is a public figure and she needs to be prepared and understand that with that life comes a sacrifice of privacy. What do you think?
