Boyfriend's bad edible experience

So tonight my boyfriend of one month and I went over to his friend's. He had bought an edible, a cookie, and took a full dose. At first he was alright, fading in and out a bit.

Suddenly, his hands were freezing cold and he started shivering and feeling extremely nauseous.

I have never smoked pot or eaten an edible, but I've got several friends wt have near me. I haven't seen this bad of a reaction in a while.

We ended up going back to my boyfriend's after he started to freak out a bit and say he needed to sleep. He got pale and before you know it, he's sitting in the bathroom floor over the toilet. Let's just say, I haven't seen someone puke that hard in years.

Now, it's 2 am and I'm making sure he is alright as he lays his head on my lap, drinks some water, and gets through this. He said I love you for the first time (and several more) during all of this.

Overall tonight has been just...surprising and eventful. Not sure how to look at it.
