IUD Advice?

I’ve been on the pill before but my dr and I discussed a better option called Kyleena. It’s an IUD and I was wondering what other people’s experience is with Kyleena or other plastic IUDs. I’m twenty, I don’t have children and I heard it can be painful for younger women? I do have a weak stomach. Leave your experience in the comments !

I only heard stories of girls getting the IUD (both plastic and copper) and the insertion being excruciating and the pain after being horrible. Then my mom was like I had the copper twice and I was fine the moment after (I was like you're remembering wrong) but then I got the copper and I was totally fine! A bit of cramps but I was running around at work an hour later and a heating pad was all I needed to fall asleep. So not everyone reacts painfully. And this was my experience with the copper IUD which is even more painful than a plastic one

I don’t have a plastic iud I have the copper iud. In regards to pain, it hurt a little going in but nothing to be too scared about. Just listen to your body once it’s in- if you feel any odd pains make sure to share them with your doctor ASAP because you don’t want to risk it getting imbedded into your uterus. Best of luck!

I have kyleena. It hurt going in and I puked a couple times at home afterwards but I felt fine the next day and it’s been amazing. Light to no periods and my husband and I don’t worry about condoms anymore.
