Can i change my childrens last name on their birth certificate?

Im not trying to take their dads last name off im actually wanting to remove my last name. They have both our last names and i would like for them to just have his last name. My girls ages are 2 years old and 10 months (idk if that matters or not). I thought i would like for them to have both our last names for a more secure identity but i don't like the whole 2 last names thing. Idk if its even possible anymore or not.

Should be able to go to the social security office in your state and get it changed.  Likely will need their father with you

My last name changed as a child (I was adopted), and they mailed us a new birth certificate (with my adoptive dad listed as the father). Not sure if they do that for all situations or just because I was adopted. Start at the social security office.

You Should Be Able To They May Charge You To Do So , You Could Always Call The Health Department In Your Area & Ask Them

Not on their birth certificate. But you can google “my-state child name change” and change it now if you wanted. They’d need that paperwork in the future tho.
