When did you move your babies to a toddler bed?

My daughter is 14 months old. Almost. And we are expecting number two in about 3 or 4 months (not going to 40 weeks). And we only have one crib. And we are NOT buying another one. But when did you move your babies to a toddler bed? Thinking of getting her one for Christmas for the new place maybe

Our daughter is 17 months and I’m due in feb with our second. We also aren’t buying another crib. Well keep our new baby with us in our room for 4 months like we did with our first and then we’ll move her into the crib and get our daughter a toddler bed. I am just not ready to constantly have to put my daughter back in bed because I know she’s gonna be up a million times a night and right now her crib is like a tiny baby jail.

As soon as she walked steadily at 16 months - just wanted to make sure she was not gonnz trip if she got up at night wearing pyjamas.

I moved my son at 15 months 2 minths before little sister is born. It was a process but he did great and im glad to get bed training over before having a newborn. I will say i do miss loosing the security of the crib.

My first is 2 and has been on a twin-sized mattress just put straight on the floor since she was 13 months. Will do the same for our 2nd when the time comes, it has worked out great.

Still pregnant with my first so I don’t have personal experience with this, but my parents waited until my little sister was 2. When she was 18 months she fell asleep on the couch with her mom and she rolled off, which wasn’t the first time. She had a tendency to roll off of things. Fortunately she never got hurt or had any head injuries, but because of this they waited until she was 2. They got her a princess bed for that Christmas.

I moved my daughter into a toddler bed when she was 18 months. She climbed out if it and that’s when we moved her. She did really well with staying in bed. I had my son when she was 2 so by then she was really comfortable when he was born and he used the crib.
