It's a normal part of being a toddler. You need to explain what it is. And you need to stay away from "wee-wee".

Its PENIS and VAGINA. BREASTS(not boobies)and butt.

Teach your 2 year old proper terms. Not "cute "names for it.

Boys play a lot more with their testicles and penis, because it's simply there. In the way. Especially when potty training.

Boys get hard when they pull on their testicles and penis. They like the feelings they get so of course they do it a lot.

This is the time to teach privacy. Do not shame, do not tell your son what he does is bad. Going so will mess him up in the long run.

Playing with himself, at this age is just something he does without realizing the actual act of masturbation. He does it because it feels good. That's the extent of it.

Just like a kid that loves ice cream, will jump and run over when you tell him you have ice cream... same with doing something that causes pleasure.

Boys get hardons from even days old.

At this stage, a good breeze and no diaper on, will give him a hard on.

The important thing is now to educate. To let him know it IS OK to it, but only when people are not around. To let him know that it is rude to do it, especially with people around that are not your mom or dad. Mom and that can be more understanding, but doing so, in front of extended family, friends or strangers, is inappropriate and rude.

This is a normal part of toddler development. Boys are harder than girls at this stage, because their penis and testicles, are always in the way, hanging, so inevitably it is easier to make contact with them, on purpose or by accident.

It is very important to let them know the act in itself is normal. Never shame, never tell him what he does is shameful. Never approach this with a negative attitude. It will mess you your child for the rest of his life.

Also, this would be a good start, to let him know that he should not trust ANYONE touching there. The only people allowed to touch his butt, penis and testicles, are you or dad and only if he needs to be changed, cleaned off of poo poo or in need of a bath.

Teach him that ANYONE that EVER says " this will be our little secret, dont tell anyone", he should always, ALWAYS tell you, because those people are trying to hurt him.

This is the time to teach all these things.

They are young. Yes. But these things are better learned young, than too late.

My daughter is an oct 2016 baby as well. So same age as your son.

She knows her body parts, all the way to vagina. She knows her privates are HERS. She knows mommy AND daddy, help clean up poo, wipe pee, etc, but absolutely nothing more.she knows that if ANYONE was to touch her inappropriately (meaning anything going IN, or someone touching her on top of clothes, for absolutely no reason), she knows to let us know asap. Shes not in kindergarten and shes not exposed to a lot of people, but she still knows these things..

Education is important right now..
