Which brings you more joy being a spouse or being a parent??

I am happy as a husband and parent. My wife says that I seem happiest when interacting with our daughters. I have been giving it some thought and she may be right. To watch my daughters grow and learn has been an amazing experience. I love my wife and enjoy interacting with her too but there is something truly uniquely special about parenthood. Sorry wife

I am definitely more in my element as a mom than a wife. I love my husband but the sheer, you-over-everything kind of love is really only given to my son. My husband and I also have a decade under our belts and 16 of knowing each other so maybe I’m like “mehhhh... I love you, he’s new here, chill out and take a back seat for a while”.

I think this is a common experience. I remember reading once that people who have kids are not happier, but have more joy than folks who are childless.
