Women with preeclampsia? 35 weeks

I went to my 35 week apt today and my blood pressure is normally about 115/68, today is 135/80, I had +1 protein in my urine and I’ve gained over 5 lbs this week. I had a new dr and he told me that my bp is normal but I told him not for me. He looked at my chart and said oh okay that’s a little higher. He sent me for blood work and then is making me carry around a jug all day to pee in. 
Does everyone have to do this around 35 weeks? Or is he trying not to freak me out? I am a little freaked out honestly.

Your blood pressure is borderline high, I think to be considered high it has to to 140+/80+ but it has to be more than one occasion. I could be wrong though. He’s probably just checking your urine to rule out preeclampsia, although it can develop very suddenly. On the other hand it could just be gestational hypertension. I had severe preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and was induced at 37 weeks with a bp of 177/92, but I had been diagnosed with gestational hypertension at around 20 weeks because my blood pressure was high at every appointment. I had to do the 24 hour urine catch twice, once when they said I had hypertension and at about 36 weeks and it came back normal both times 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pre-E can develop very suddenly. My doctor said anything higher than 140/90 on a consistent basis is too high. The 24 hr urine collection is to determine if you have more than 300mg of protein in your urine in that time frame. If you do, then you are considered preeclamptic. 
I had Pre-E with my second pregnancy and with this pregnancy (4th), my doctor started me on a baby aspirin a day as clinical studies have shown to offset Pre-E. I have not had any issues with my BP since starting the baby aspirin and it hovers around 120/80–124/85 now. That is high for me, as I am usually 115/60 when not pregnant. Remember though, it is perfectly normal to see a rise in BP as blood volume increases by nearly 40% towards end of pregnancy. The increased volume puts pressure on your arterial flow and arteries, thus causing an increase in BP. 
Just continue to rest and take it easy. Drink plenty of water so you don’t get dehydrated and follow any regime your doc recommends. ❤️

Yes I had to do the 24 hours urine and I don’t have preeclampsia yet but they are still inducing me next week at 37 weeks because of high blood pressure I am on meds 3 times a day. But my doctors office let me go 2 months with high blood pressure it was like 135-145/85-90 and they would say we are happy with that but then I went to my specialist because I had previa also and she put me on meds right away and is inducing at 37. and my blood pressure went higher every 2 weeks like it was 130 then the next time it was 135 and it kept going up so just watch out for the stuff you need to watch for if it goes over 160/90 then it’s not good.
