Dating a bad texter. 😩

So he is awesome when we meet and sometimes would try harder to text “normal” what’s normal to me. But our conversations usually go like (last example):

Me: Hey, can’t wait to see you over the weekend. Also you don’t have to join for the Christmas party if you don’t want to I realize it’s midweek. I know you work long hours, but I’d love for you to join if you can. Either way, we can have our own little Christmas party 🤭. How’s work now? Everything ok?

Him: Yeah crazy busy at work. Crunch time.

Now you’d think he’s trying to break up or doesn’t care. I panicked over texts like this so many times I can’t remember. But this is the same guy who showed up at my doorstep to surprise see me on Monday because we couldn’t see each other on the weekend. He just texted me to open the door and he was there. This is the same guy who showed up after a fight with a orchid and told me he missed me even if we fought. He is a great guy and he knows this bothers me but I don’t think he’s doing it on purpose. I don’t know how to have him be warmer when texting. I also realize work is busy, it is for me too. I kind of freak out especially if we don’t see each other for a longer time. Is anyone going through the same?
