We have a fake one for convenience.  It's pre-lit so it's just a matter of plugging it in and decorating. I comes apart into 3 pieces for storage. The lights aren't turned on in this picture, but it has the soft white LEDs

I do like the smell of real Christmas trees, but this is much easier!

My husband and I got a real tree for the first time together! Its beautiful.  We've always had fake trees and it just isnt the same. Growing up I had real ones so I wanted the same for my kids.

we always do fake. 
for starters growing you the tree sat next to the fireplace, and we had cats. so we didn't want it to catch on fire or the cats to eat the needles. 
fake trees are way easier and safe money. when I moved out of my parents they gave me their tree...this thing is like 20 years old if not older. 
I just dont like the thought of chopping a tree down just to throw it out in a month or two. 🤷

We're going tomorrow 🙌🏻 when we get our own place we might get a fake one because my husband's allergic and I don't want to deal with the mess, but we have a year to decide 🤷🏼‍♀️
