What is the likelihood of miscarriage after the first trimester?

I’ve always been told that after your first trimester your risk for miscarriage is really low and you shouldn’t even worry about it and that you can start buying stuff & planning etc. but I keep seeing stories of people who miscarried at like 14, 16, 18 weeks and it’s scaring me😅 I always try to think positive and I’ve just been thinking I can stop worrying once I’m out of my first trimester but 😅😅😅😅 ugh

I feel completely the same because on this app we read so much of people miscarrying into the second trimester but what you’ve got to think is that people don’t post regularly saying “18 weeks and baby is still there!” They are more likely to post about the bad stuff. Which makes it seem like it happens more than it does

I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and I go for my second ultrasound Monday. I’m terrified I’ll go an something will be wrong since I haven’t seen the baby in 6 weeks (although it measured fine and had a strong fluttering heart). I chosen faith over fear for this matter!! I haven’t had any cramping/spotting and I’m going stay positive and put it in Gods hands!

It’s like a 10% chance after hearing the heartbeat at 6-8 weeks and the after 14 weeks it drops to about a 1% chance.

You can loose a baby at any time. You can be 40 weeks pregnant and your baby can just die with no heartbeat. I lost mine at 22 weeks pregnant, even though I had a perfect pregnancy. Not trying to scare you, instead just enjoy your pregnancy and be happy. I was always scared of something happening and it did! I wish I would have just enjoyed! Because if it happens, you’re goin to regret not enjoying your pregnancy either way.

I was thinking the same thing all through my pregnancy. What really helped was the fetal doppler. Whenever I got nervous I would listen to the baby’s heartbeat. After 18 weeks I felt small movements and it made me feel better and less paranoid.
