Is my cat dying?

My cat is 17 years old. She has recently become very withdrawn, not eating/drinking as much, lays around, nose is stuffy & sounds like a whistling sound. Her eyes are cloudy. She’s lost weight and her bones are starting to show. She’s just not acting the same. I just took her to the vet about 2 months ago and all blood work & X-rays came back normal so I just don’t know what could be wrong. Any advice? Does she sound like she’s dying?

All these things happened to my cat before he died. He was like 15 years old. I could always be wrong and hopefully I am. Just try to give your cat a lot of love and attention while she’s going through this. I would keep testing to a minimum so your cat doesn’t have to go through too much during this time, but that’s ultimately your decision.

If she wasn’t whistling through her nose when you took her to the vet then I recommend taking her back or taking to a different vet that might be able to troubleshoot if bloodwork isn’t giving any answers. She likely needs fluids too. I highly recommend not just letting her die. This could be something treatable. I understand if money is an issue - lots of testing can cost lots of money.

Those signs are similar to what my cat experienced before dying. She had feline leukemia though
