No drugs..?

Question

It seems like all the posts about pcos include the words metformin and clomid.

Are there any pcos cysters out there who are not on medication and not planning on going on medication?  If yes,  how do you manage your symptoms?

Yes. I can't take metformin. I had an allergic reaction and for about 2 months couldn't eat anything but saltines and milk everything else i threw up. I don't take anything now. And just recently started vitamins and tracking my ovulation with tests and we started using pre-seed lube.

I don't take medication daily yet, but I'm open to it if I end up needing it.

However, I am pretty sure I'll need them to TTC. That is why I'm taking prometrium to help keep my uterine lining thinner (while waiting to be able to do more in a fertility clinic... My husband is looking for work right now).

I control some of my symptoms through diet and exercise. I don't eat grains, sugars, or much fruit. I also eat vegetarian, which is why I've had to cut all grains. I try to exercise most days. I've been working on it for some time and have not been able to regulate my period on my own yet and still have hair growth.

I've lost 15 pounds and am looking to lose another 15, but I'm within a healthy BMI, so it's not super likely it's going to help.

How is it going for you? Maybe you have some tricks I don't! :)
